Richard Slavin, M.D.

Richard Slavin, M.D., is a general, thoracic and vascular surgeon and was CEO of Camino Medical Group for more than a decade. He is the Executive Vice President of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) and is also the President of the Camino Division of PAMF. Previously, Dr. Slavin was chief of the Surgical Department at El Camino Hospital.

Raised in San Francisco, Dr. Slavin attended the University of California at Berkeley and received his M.D. degree from Washington University Medical School. He completed his surgical training at Stanford University Medical Center. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and former president of the San Jose Surgical Society. For many years, Dr. Slavin was a volunteer clinical faculty member at Stanford University Medical School, where he taught surgery to the students and residents at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. Dr. Slavin was the chair of the Sunnyvale Medical Clinic's Board of Directors for many years, overseeing its growth and expansion for the past three decades. Between 1994 and 1997, he was the vice-chair of the board of directors of Camino Healthcare, a local, integrated delivery system. He is also on the board of the Integrated Healthcare Association.

Dr. Slavin has been married to Sally for 45 years. They have three daughters and eight grandchildren.
