Hard to believe it has been 19 years since the last Indiana Jones movie – but Harrison Ford, Steven Spielberg, and George Lucas really deliver in the third sequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). What you may not know is that this movie has been under consideration since 1989, but “artistic differences” kept it from being filmed until June of 2007. It was filmed in New Mexico; New Haven, Connecticut; Hawaii; Fresno, California; and soundstages in Los Angeles. In order to keep aesthetic continuity with the previous films, the crew relied on traditional stunt work instead of computer-generated stunt doubles.

Set in 1957, the fourth film in the Indiana Jones film series pits an older and wiser Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) against agents of the Soviet Union, led by Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett), in the search for a crystal skull. Indy is aided by his former lover Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen), the greaser Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf), and fellow archaeologist Mac (Ray Winstone). John Hurt and Jim Broadbent also play fellow academics. There are surprises though . . . which we will not spoil for you!

I was extremely excited that another Indiana Jones movie had come out, and we had to see it opening weekend. I was delighted when it turned out to be an amazing movie! The new movie takes Indy and a kid named Mutt (played by Shia LaBeouf) to South America where they are searching for the kid’s mom, as well as the city of gold. I loved the fighting scenes and the fact that Indy, no matter how old he gets, keeps the same Indiana Jones personality from when he was younger and always gets out of predicaments.

This movie is amazing and constantly moving! It is exciting, with several references to previous movies and jokes that you will only understand if you have seen the previous three Indiana Jones movies. The twists and turns in this movie keep you guessing and more than two hours flies by! I recommend this movie to any action movie lover!

Great movie, and I felt so nostalgic … It is fairly predictable in places, but that only adds to the excitement and familiarity. I loved the characters, the fact that the old guys can still kick butt, and as always, the romance. Never a dull moment but can I just say, there was a scene in which I had to close my eyes to avoid the nausea!
