Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a wonderful movie for the entire family. With a bit more psychological stuff than the original movies in the 1970s, it is a little more entertaining to some people than others. However, it is wonderful and funny. They redid the songs so that they appeal more to this generation and the current times (sorry, mom!).
In the beginning, you are introduced to Charlie. Then, you are told about Willie Wonka’s history, as well as why you don’t see people come out or go into the factory. Once inside the factory, you begin to see flashbacks of Willie Wonka’s childhood, which helps you to understand him a bit more. The mounting information leads to the ending, which I will not speak of, or else I’d spoil it!
All in all, this is a movie with some nice hidden morals that are different depending on how you view it and what your perspective on the movie is. One of the meanings is that family loves you. They, especially your parents, can also drive you nutty. However, they are trying to protect you by making the rules that you are just dying to break.
I recommend this as a movie you should see with your parents, but it is very touching for children and people of all ages.
