The Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) is one of the most respected health care institutions in the United States. From its roots as a small clinic established in downtown Palo Alto in the 1930s, the Foundation has grown into an organization that is a model for the rest of the nation, providing high-quality patient care, biomedical research and health education for residents and employees of the communities it serves.

PAMF is committed to providing patients with exceptional, well-coordinated and cost-effective care. For decades, PAMF has enjoyed a national reputation for the high quality services it provides to the community. In recent years, it has consistently received the highest ratings among more than 120 medical groups in California in an independent survey covering patient satisfaction and measurable "quality care" indicators.

Quality Providers


Today, the Foundation's Health Care Division, consisting of six clinics, offers a full range of medical services to patients throughout the area. PAMF's staff of approximately 290 primary and specialty care physicians, many whom also teach at Stanford University Hospital.

The medical staff is supported by a staff of more than 1,200 including physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, medical assistants and other support staff.

The medical team utilizes a vast array of state-of-the-art technology, including the most advanced diagnostic imaging and treatment devices. PAMF's affiliation with Sutter Health, one of Northern California's largest health care organizations, enhances the resources available to physicians and patients.

PAMF operates clinics in Fremont, Los Altos, Palo Alto, Portola Valley, Redwood City and Redwood Shores, as well as business support offices in Palo Alto and Sunnyvale.
