  • We offer a comprehensive approach to preventing and managing type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents, an epidemic that has no ethnic or cultural boundaries.
  • Our pediatricians look for signs of metabolic syndrome in young patients—the precursor to type 2 diabetes
  • When it’s found, our nurse educators counsel individuals and families on nutrition and other lifestyle changes to stop its progress
  • Our health educators offer classes in preventing or living with diabetes at any age, as well as gestational diabetes and post-partum diabetes for pregnant women and mothers
  • The Research Institute is studying data from our large South Asian patient population to develop earlier detection of and better treatment for diseases more common in this population
