Living Well with Diabetes:
A Multi-session Program

The Living Well with Diabetes class series is for type 2 diabetes patients who are either newly diagnosed or have not had diabetes education in a couple of years.

Sessions offered weekly. All new patients are advised to register for this program.

Program topics include:

  • Causes and types of diabetes
  • Nutrition management
  • Insulin, injectables and oral diabetes medications
  • Exercise guidelines
  • Blood pressure management
  • Coping with stress and relapse prevention
  • Diabetic emergencies and sick-daymanagement
  • Preventing long-term complications
  • Foot care
  • Self blood-glucose (sugar) monitoring instruction, including how to interpret blood glucose patterns and make decisions for blood glucose management

Classes size is kept small and is interactive.
