Living Well with Diabetes:
A Multi-session Program
The Living Well with Diabetes class series is for type 2 diabetes patients who are either newly diagnosed or have not had diabetes education in a couple of years.
Sessions offered weekly. All new patients are advised to register for this program.
Program topics include:
- Causes and types of diabetes
- Nutrition management
- Insulin, injectables and oral diabetes medications
- Exercise guidelines
- Blood pressure management
- Coping with stress and relapse prevention
- Diabetic emergencies and sick-daymanagement
- Preventing long-term complications
- Foot care
- Self blood-glucose (sugar) monitoring instruction, including how to interpret blood glucose patterns and make decisions for blood glucose management
Classes size is kept small and is interactive.
