Functional Spine Training
Class Overview:
The Functional Spine Training class is a service offered to Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) patients by the Department of Physical Therapy. The class usually meets on the first Monday of the month -- please call to confirm meeting date.
Goal:
The purpose of this program is to help patients manage, protect, and prevent their own back and neck problems through proper body mechanics, posture and movement education. The 1 1/2 hour session will cover basic spine anatomy, possible structural causes of back pain, the importance of proper body mechanics and good posture, and functional strategies for back protection and more efficient movement.
Who should attend? Adults with:
- Recent onset of spine pain that has begun to improve
- Chronic back problems with recent worsening of symptoms
- Anyone who doesn't have pain, but is interested in back pain prevention strategies
How to enroll: Call 650-853-4873 and leave your name and phone number. You will be notified of the first available class.
Preparing for class:
- Please arrive on time. Once the class begins, instructors cannot review information.
- Please call and cancel your appointment if you are unable to attend.
